My classical music is published under my real name. All of the In the Key of K music is where my ‘band’ stuff goes. Rock band stuff is fun but I have spent decades writing and training in classical styles of instrumental music. And that is what you’ll hear with this release.

Stone Sonatas is a series of four solo guitar sonatas written and performed by me. Traditionally in academia, we learn that sonatas have form and compositional ideas that give them shape–it’s what we come to expect when the word ‘Sonata’ is used. Three of the four sonatas adhere to the traditional three movement contour that many sonatas use–The Bones of Gaia, has four movements. Beyond that, they don’t really follow any compositional conventions often used in sonata writing.

Very soon Stone Sonatas will have a limited pre-release on Bandcamp and there will be CDs in the merch store. Vinyl is coming but it will be a while. The official release date for all streaming services is December 4th with pre-saves on November 20th.
