The new album, Out of Time Out of Tune, is streaming everywhere! You can buy physical copies here.

This song, originally called, ?!*%#@, but now called, Fucks, has the word ‘fuck’ at least 74 times in under 2 minutes! Go big or go home? 🙂 There really isn’t much to say about this one. It’s about telling the world to fuck off. It’s savage, silly, angsty, rageful, and hateful.
It was the second to last song on side two of my original cassette album “Out of Time Out of Tune” from 1998 (re-released in 2026). Musically this song is fun. I wanted it to be fast. The drums were written and recorded first. I had to rewrite the guitar/bass stuff several times because I wasn’t technically proficient enough to play what I initially wanted (at least not at this tempo).
I’m seriously considering doing a slower acoustic version! 😎
Lyrics:
//
Fucks
Fuck you and your fucking face.
Fuck me and my fucking haste.
Fuck the book and fuck the page.
Fuck you and your fucking rage.
Fuck the fucking words we write.
Fuck the wrong and fuck the right.
Fuck the lies we’re told to trust
Fuck the ashes, fire, and dust.
Fuck the gods and fuck the sin,
Fuck the wars we’re living in.
Fuck the people, fuck their names,
Fuck the rules and fuck the games.
Fuck the live and fuck the gone,
Fuck the sun and fuck the storm.
Fuck the fear and fuck the lust.
Fuck the rage and fuck you!
Fuck it all it’s dead to me.
Fuck it all for all to see.
Fuck the fucking world with a smile.
Fuck the fucking dead for me.
Fuck it all with broken teeth.
Fuck it all with fucking fuckers grace.
Grace. Grace.
Fuck the people fuck their names,
Fuck the rules and fuck the games.
Fuck the live and fuck the gone,
Fuck the sun and fuck the storm.
Fuck the fear and fuck the lust.
Fuck the rage and fuck you!
Fuck the fucking dead for me.
Fuck it all to find relief.
Fuck it all with fucking fuckers grace.
Grace. Grace. Grace. Grace. Grace.
uuuuuuuuuuuurghhhhhhh!

How to play it? There are three main parts to this song. Sections A, B, and C–and it ends with a coda. If everything is sharp on the recording it is probably because the original tape was sped up.
Section A:
———————————
———————————
———————————-
———————————-
————-——h3 touch harmonic-
——————————–
-3-5-3-5-6———————
Play the sixth string figure three times and the fourth time play a touch III harmonic instead of the 6th fret note. There are several variation of this throughout the song but it is always some variation of these notes.
Section B
—————————–
—————————–
—————————–
—————————–
—————————–
—————————–
—-3–5–0–3-4-5-6-6-6-6-
Section C
|A5***|A5*B5*|A5***|E5 F5 F#5 G5 G#5|
This might be a little wrong–it’s from memory not the recording. Someday maybe I will sit down and figure it out.
Coda
———————————-
———————————-
—————————————h3-
————————–———h3—–
———————————–
———————————-
–3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3———-
The touch 3 harmonics are hard to make sound unless you have lots of distortion. Don’t try to practice it clean.
This song is utterly ridiculous. There is a reason I recorded it and never played it again. 🤣 Regardless, I love it! It is secretly one of my favorites of this era. 😱
