Music

Music is life. I started playing in rock bands in the 90s but eventually became a solo classical guitarist and composer. I have many musical interests spanning numerous musical genres. Whether it’s quiet peaceful instrumental guitar music to blasting loud drums to small chamber music orchestrations or string quartet–I love it all.

Future and Past Sound Recordings:

Monsters—as In the Key of K, series of rock songs related to Monsters, not yet in publication, will release singles first, probably starting in 2025.

Re-releases—upcoming releases of old stuff from the 90s and Aughts that haven’t really enjoyed the streaming era. I want to re-record some parts and try to clean up the old/live audio. It is quickly approaching the 30 year anniversary of my first two albums I hope to get them re-edited, updated, and re-mastered in time (edit: the first album, Volume 1, 1997, is out 08/29/2025!). The artwork I’ve been working on for these has them titled as Volume 1, 1997 (streaming everywhere 08/29/2025); Volume 2, 1998; and Volume 3, 1998-2000. They will be released as In the Key of K (originally Lewd Blue). These recordings are discussed more below and will all have separate, detailed blog pages. 😃

Sonatas—four solo guitar sonatas composed by me, not yet in publication, may be released in 2026 or 2027.

13—solo guitar pieces by virtually unknown American composers from the late 19th/early 20th century, not yet in publication, may be released in 2026. This one is a bit laughable–I’ve been procrastinating recording this for more than 15 years.

Spanish Nights—Solo guitar pieces by Spanish composers from the Renaissance to the late 19th century, arranged by me, published in 2009, still available at ITunes, YouTube Music, and Spotify. I may still have some CDs in a box somewhere contact me if interested.

Deliver—as Slagdial, published in 2007, a rock album that was widely available as a CD and on all streaming services, no longer in publication but if you look hard enough you may find it. It really needs to be re-mixed, re-mastered, and the vocals re-recorded. The vocals aren’t terrible but it was a rushed job with not enough recording time. The thing that bothers me the most is the mix down. In a few years when AI is a little better at separating the parts cleanly I will tackle the project. All of the original tracks were erased from the hard drive–except the drum tracks–I think I still have those, randomly.

Graduate Recital—live audio recordings of my 2007 graduate recital, all music written by me, including music for string quartet, brass quintet, solo piano, guitar duet, and solo guitar, never officially published but released for free online from 2007 until 2016

Live 2004—live audio recordings from 2004, various composers for solo guitar, Renaissance to present day, never published but copies were made for family and friends. The recording of this performance was not very good. I was able to salvage some audio from the VHS recording but it wasn’t very good either. I don’t think any of it is salvageable. This was my senior recital for college

Live 2003—live audio recordings from 2003, various composers for solo guitar, Renaissance to present day, no longer in publication. This was my junior recital for college.

Volume V—audio recordings of instrumental music composed by me for solo guitar (and bucket), published from 2002 until 2018, no longer in publication but you can hear it here.

Vested Angels Fallen—published in 2000, this was a sort of ‘best of’ from earlier Lewd Blue material with five or six new tracks (from what would have been Volume 3) and some re-recorded tracks of Nøthing Special songs. Fewer than 100 copies were made but some tracks were available digitally for a short time, no longer in publication.

The third Lewd Blue album (now called Lewd Blue Volume 3) was about half finished in early 1998 before my life changed drastically and I never got back around to finishing it. I managed to salvage a few tracks but nothing was completely finished. New edit: I went through old 4 track tapes and found plenty of material to finish the album. The downside is that most of the recordings are unusable–they were just demos of ideas. The upside is that all the ideas are preserved. It will be recording from scratch for 75% of the songs.

Out of Time and Out of Tune—as Lewd Blue, recorded in 1998, a bunch of rock songs where I wrote all the parts and played all the instruments. I made a bunch of cassettes and mailed them to my friends.

Stink Bastard—also known as Lewd Blue, recorded in 1997, a bunch of rock songs where I wrote all the parts and played all the instruments. I made a bunch of cassettes and mailed them to my friends. The first few copies I sent out were just titled Stink Bastard which is an even more terrible name today than it was in 1997. Shortly after I started sending these out, I renamed myself to Lewd Blue. This album is streaming everywhere as 08/29/2025! Bandcamp is the best way to support music you like–you can pay the recommended price or more–or stream it for free. Spotify and other streaming services do not pay artist fairly!

Demo—as Nøthing Special, recorded in 1996, I played drums and co-wrote songs. Two other friends sang, played guitar, and co-wrote. We had several bass players but none of them stuck around for very long. Several dozen cassettes were made.

Loaded Demo-from a band with my cousin called Loaded Dice in 1995. We only played for six or eight months but it was a blast. The demo consisted of practice sessions that were recorded to cassette on a stereo and then duplicates were made. I played drums. My cousin wrote songs and sang. We had several guitar and bass players. Maybe ten copies were made.
