This is another recipe where I ask myself, does this need to be posted? Anyway, here is what it I do…

Homemade Peanut/Nut Butter
1 pound of unsalted, unroasted peanuts or nuts of your choice
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Food processor
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spread a layer of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and then add the peanuts. Spread them out evenly.
For peanuts: bake for 14-18 minutes. Shake the pan around a little bit a few times while cooking so they roast roast on both sides. I like them to be pretty dark.

For other nuts: for baking, I have found that it takes at least 13 minutes for most nuts. Keep shaking the pan and baking until it looks good to you.
Save some nuts for snacking! They are absolutely delicious and crisp once they have cooled down. Eat some peanuts and love yourself.
Once they are mostly cool put them in the food processor with the salt. With the strong roasted flavor you really don’t need much salt. Leave it out if you want. Process on high. It takes longer than you think it will but, if you’re patient, you will have a peanut butter every bit as smooth and creamy as any store-bought natural peanut butter. No high speed machine is necessary, just time, however, I wouldn’t try it in regular blender–you really need the large S blade or a highspeed machine. If it balls up just push it down and keep going. It will eventually stop balling up and cling to the sides of the food processor. If it doesn’t look like dark peanut butter you haven’t processed it enough.

I store it in old Smucker’s peanut butter jars. I don’t refrigerate it.
This works for other nuts too!
I make hazelnut butter and pecan butter all the time! Eventually, I want to try to make almond flour and almond butter.
Does making your own peanut butter save money? Not really, at least, not for me. It costs maybe a little more to buy a jar of natural peanut butter than it does to buy the unsalted unroasted peanuts. However, it tastes WAY better to make your own and you control the salt content. Another plus is that this doesn’t have an sugar or other weird oil add-ins that many popular brands have. Hazelnut and pecan butter are a lot cheaper to make at home. Also they are hard to find anywhere but the internet.
